Before you order

Terms of sale

These terms explain the contract between you and FlipFlop when you purchase a PC, upgrade service or related product through theflipflop.shop.

1. The trader

FlipFlop is a trading name used by [Sole trader's full legal name required before taking orders], a UK sole trader. The business address, email, telephone number and any applicable registrations are shown in Business details.

2. Product information

We describe the main characteristics, condition, exact or proposed specification, price, delivery option and included services before payment. A recommendation or performance plan is not an order until an exact offer and total price are shown. Refurbished or used components are identified before agreement.

Our PC ranges and delivery choices

Ready to Ship means an already-built machine; Curated for you means a pre-designed Playbook build with offered personalisation; Made by you means a customer-selected builder configuration that must pass our checks. Fast Track, Standard and Flex are separate sourcing/delivery choices, available where the selected build and destination support them. A Flex discount is shown only when verified against Standard for the same selected specification. The delivery policy explains all three ranges and delivery options.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include applicable taxes. Standard tracked UK postage and delivery insurance arranged by FlipFlop are included unless checkout clearly states otherwise. Optional services and premium delivery charges are itemised before payment. Payment is handled securely by Stripe. Checkout shows the payment methods available for the order, which can include cards and digital wallets, Amazon Pay, and Klarna. Klarna may offer pay-later or instalment plans for eligible purchases; availability, approval, payment schedule, interest and other terms are decided by Klarna and shown before the customer confirms that method. FlipFlop does not provide credit or guarantee approval. Refunds are sent through the original payment method; a third-party provider may take additional time to update an account or instalment schedule. See our payment options policy.

4. Making the contract

Your order is an offer to buy. The contract forms when FlipFlop accepts the order in a durable confirmation, normally by email. An automated acknowledgement alone does not require us to accept an order where stock, price, compatibility, safety or fraud checks fail; any captured payment for an unaccepted order will be returned.

5. Build approval and substitutions

Made-to-order work follows the approved specification and Playbook requirements. We will not substitute a material component, condition or performance level without the approval required by your order. Before components are ordered, a requested change pauses sourcing while compatibility, timing and price are reviewed.

6. Cancellation

Our baseline online-sales policy lets you notify us within 14 days after delivery and return the goods within a further 14 days. Before components are ordered, direct customers may cancel for a full refund. Details, return costs and the model form are in Returns and refunds and the cancellation form. This policy does not restrict rights where goods are faulty, damaged, misdescribed or late.

7. Delivery

Delivery targets are estimates unless checkout expressly records a guaranteed date. We will deliver within the agreed period or, where no period is agreed, within the period required by law. Risk remains with FlipFlop until the goods come into your or your nominated recipient's physical possession. See our Delivery page.

8. Faults and warranty

Goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. The 12-month FlipFlop warranty is additional to statutory rights and does not replace them. Remedies and support steps are set out in Warranty and support.

9. Software and digital setup

FlipFlop's recommended software selection and installation are included with the PC at no extra charge. Each application remains subject to its publisher's licence and account terms. Any separately charged software licence or optional digital service will be identified with its eligibility and full price before you agree to buy it. We do not transfer ownership of third-party software beyond the licence supplied.

Upgrade work and separately purchased services

We perform agreed services with reasonable care and skill. Following inspection of a customer-owned PC, any material change to work, price, parts or turnaround requires approval. Retained customer-owned parts do not automatically receive a new complete-PC warranty. Service contracts can have a 14-day cancellation period from agreement. Starting a paid service during that period requires your express request; any proportionate charge on cancellation or loss of cancellation rights after full performance must meet the applicable legal requirements and be explained before agreement. Separately supplied digital content has its own consent and cancellation rules. Merely choosing a PC or paying for Fast Track is not a blanket waiver of rights.

10. Your data and account

Our privacy notice explains how personal information is used. Keep account credentials secure and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

11. Responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach. We are not responsible for business losses under a consumer contract or loss caused by misuse, unauthorised modification or failure to follow supplied safety instructions.

12. Complaints and law

Use our complaints process first so we can investigate. These terms are governed by the law applying where you live in the United Kingdom, and you retain the right to use the courts available to you under consumer law.
